How do I know if I should pick a Pack or Bundle?

You don’t need to choose a package or bundle before your initial visit.  Simply schedule the tests you want to do on your first visit. All payments and package choices will be made at the end of your appointment. You will be asked to place a credit card just to hold your appointment, but we do check-out at the end of your visit.

How long should I expect the tests to take?

Each DXA,RMR,VO2 or Proteus test only takes about 10-15 minutes itself, but we schedule 30 minutes total for each test to allow enough time to go over your reports with you and answer questions to help you use the data. All the tests can be done in one day.

Do I need to prepare for the tests?

Yes, some preparation is key to success.  Please see prep suggestions for each test below:

DEXA – For best results we recommend no strenuous exercise 24 hours prior. Hydrate well the day prior. Fast minimum 1-2 hours before tests. Wear comfortable clothing with no metal or thick plastics. Sportswear works great.

RMR – For best results avoid strenuous exercise 24 hours prior. No alcohol the day before and no caffeine the day of. Avoid gum, mints, etc. prior to your test. Fast minimum of four to five hours prior to your exam. Make sure you’re well hydrated, Water is fine.

VO2 – Avoid strenuous exercise 24 hours prior. Bring clothes you would jog or exercise in. Wear running shoes and bring a towel and water bottle with you. This is a hard workout so avoid a heavy meal 1-2 hours prior.

PROTEUS – Bring clothes you would exercise in. Wear running/workout shoes and bring a towel and water bottle with you.

We recommend a 2-3 month window for DXA scans, VO2 and RMR for most people. It gives time that you see change, but not wasting your time if something is not working in your plan.

This works in most cases, unless you see drastic changes on the DXA or other indicators there have been some changes. There are always exceptions.

How often should I get tested?

A big part of what we do is help you hold yourself accountable. We suggest you retest with us 2 – 3 months after your first visit. This way you’ll be motivated to improve on your numbers. We’ll help you determine how often you should return based on your results.

Do you take insurance?
We do not take insurance. However most FHS and HSA accounts will reimburse for our services. Check with your provider.
